Important: Independent practices set their own fees and payment terms
All specialists at Dudley Creek Health run their own independent practices. Each practice sets their own fees, ACC arrangements and payment terms. Please check with your specialist’s practice for details about payment options and arrangements.
Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC)
The Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) provides comprehensive, no-fault personal injury cover for personal injuries suffered in New Zealand.
When you see a specialist, your assessment is fully covered by ACC, as is any high-tech imaging (MRI, CT scan, X-ray, etc.). However, ACC does not cover all treatments — this depends on the nature of your injury and the treatment required.
Your specialist’s practice will:

Complete any required assessment reports for ACC

Advise you on ACC coverage for your specific treatment

Manage the approval process with ACC

Explain any costs you may need to cover
Just because ACC have covered your initial injury and your specialist review, it does not mean that any subsequent treatment will be covered. Your practice will advise you about this.
If you are declined by ACC, you can either lodge an appeal against the ACC decision, use health insurance, or pay privately. Your practice can advise you on your options.
Insurance
Please pay for your consultation at the time of your appointment, or within 7 days of the date on your invoice.
If you have health insurance that covers specialist consultations and procedures, your practice can help you with prior approval requirements. Once your practice receives your prior approval number, the surgery date will be confirmed with you.
If your surgery is performed at Southern Cross Hospital, you will receive separate invoices from your practice and from Southern Cross Hospital.
If you are having surgery under local anaesthesia, the surgery will be performed in the minor procedure room at Dudley Creek Health.
If your surgery was performed in the theatre at our rooms (local anaesthetic procedures only), you will receive one invoice from your practice.
Please note: If invoices remain outstanding for over 60 days, your practice may require direct payment before further treatment.
For medical certificates or other administrative matters, please contact your specialist’s practice directly.
Affordable Care Options / Self Funded
Please pay for your consultation at the time of your appointment, or within 7 days of the date on your invoice.
Your practice will provide you with a surgery estimate. The surgery date on your estimate is provisional only. Once your practice receives your acceptance of the estimate, the surgery date will be confirmed with you.
If you are having surgery under local anaesthesia, the surgery will be performed in the minor procedure room at Dudley Creek Health.
If your surgery is performed at Southern Cross Hospital, you will receive separate invoices from your practice and from Southern Cross Hospital. The hospital requires 80% payment on discharge.
If your surgery was performed in the theatre at our rooms (local anaesthetic procedures only), you will receive one invoice from your practice.
Please note: If invoices remain outstanding for over 60 days, your practice may require direct payment before further treatment.
